Faces Worth A Thousand Words

This image represents me, it seems, every day. Lately, I am every one of these faces in full technicolor! Sometimes our experience does feel like three steps forward, two steps back. I heard a wise man say, though, that through our despair we create our works of art. My goal with my artistic, holistic plant therapies is to help inspire a connection within so we may navigate through the waters of turbulent times. Essentials oils, and plants in general, cultivate a deep sense of connection to earth energies (to stabilize) and, essential oils in particular, connect us to our innate center for emotion, the limbic system of the brain. According to Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, this “emotional brain” does not mature with age and as our emotions are stimulated, or “buttons” pushed, our reactions to sensory stimulation can revert to that of our two-year-old selves.1 In her book, My Stroke of Insight, she suggests, “Capitalizing on our noses to shift ourselves back into the present moment...” (p.172), which she claims is one of the easiest ways to shift our mood.
Faces Worth A Thousand Words

The process of being and becoming

Jill Bolte Taylor, this “emotional brain” does not mature with age and as our emotions are stimulated, or “buttons” pushed, our reactions to sensory stimulation can revert to that of our two-year-old selves.(1)

In her book, My Stroke of Insight, she suggests, “Capitalizing on our noses to shift ourselves back into the present moment...” (p.172), which she claims is one of the easiest ways to shift our mood.

I love sitting down with a few chosen bottles of oil and mixing, creating, sensing. They stimulate our sense of going-with-the-flow, empathy, and other forms of insight and inspiration. They invigorate these “right-brain” attributes(2) and help to balance our often over-stimulated and dominating(3) rampant thoughts running through our left-brain hemisphere.(4)

This is such an important time of change and opportunity for us to reconnect with parts of ourselves long ignored, and to allow the blossoming of our personalities and unifying characteristics. By taking a conscious approach to our evolution and inner growth we understand the messages of what we are feeling and have the choice to nurture aspects of love, harmony, and joy, as opposed to anger, frustration, division, and judgement. As Dr. Bolte Taylor says, we, “tend carefully the garden of [our] minds.” (p.152)

To help in this process, I am offering Frankincense and Ylang Ylang oils at a discounted price, in both 5ml. dropper bottles and 10ml. roll-on bottles on my website AzureAlchemy.com or on Etsy. (Sale prices good through June 2020.)

With June and the summer months approaching during the continued shelter-in-place we may all be cycling through a gamut of emotions. I’ve had many requests for more information on the astrological influences that may be affecting our planet, and I must say there is a lot of information that I could share concerning this. I would love to hear back from you about the type of content you are interested in. I am also in the process of organizing some Facebook Live podcasts, so make sure to sign up if you would like to be included in these meetings. 🌿
